Interview with two open source contributors

1st Interviewee

Samyak: So Mr Malik where are you from?

Mr Malik: I live in Vasant Kunj, Delhi

Samyak: Which school did you go to?

Mr Malik: I went to DPS RKP

Samyak: Which project did you participate in?

Mr Mailk: I contributed to the organization called Canonical

Samyak: Oh great! What does Open Source mean for you? What is important to you about Open Source?

Mr Malik: I think open source helps the organization get along with people and do collaborative working. The most important thing about open source is to respect other contributors

Samyak: What have you learned in the Open Source community?

Mr Malik: I think 50% of the things about websites that I have learned is because I actively participate in open source

Samyak: How do you contribute to the open source technologies

Mr Malik: I think the best way to contribute is Github

Samyak: What do like about Fossasia?

Mr Malik: I haven’t been in touch with Fossasia so much but I have heard from my friends that it is a really friendly organisation

Samyak: Will you join the next FOSSASIA Summit Singapore

Mr Malik: No most probably I will be busy at the moment

Samyak: Okay thank you! Mr Malik.

2nd Interviewee

Samyak: Raghav where are you from?

Raghav: I am from Chandigarh, Punjab

Samyak: Which school did you go to?

Raghav: None, my parents decided to homeschool me. It’s not that fun but one learns a lot

Samyak: Oh… Which project did you participate in?

Raghav: I participated in OSADL

Samyak: What is important to you about Open Source?

Raghav: I think that the most important thing is to take others’ opinion in count

Samyak: I totally agree with you. What have you learned in the Open Source community?

Raghav: I believe that everyone does these courses pertaining to Web Development but if they wanna gain the real practical knowledge they should definitely participate in Open Source.

Samyak: How do you contribute to the open source technologies

Raghav: I prefer Github to contribute as its UI is really friendly

Samyak: What do like about Fossasia?

Raghav: I think Fossasia is an exemplary organisation in the terms of open source and every open source organisation should inherit its good qualities

Samyak: Will you join the next FOSSASIA Summit Singapore

Raghav: Yeah sure!

Samyak: Okay thank you! Raghav!
